The Inside Scoop

Arapahoe Basin ski area opened in 1946 and remains today solely a ski area, without other resort operations. Our terrain is varied; 10% is beginner, 30% is intermediate and 60% is advanced or expert. Half of our mountain is above timberline with open bowl skiing and snowboarding that lasts until June.

We are independently owned and we provide a family atmosphere for our employees, where everyone knows everyone. By necessity, we must work together to offer our guests the best possible A-Basin experience.

Where is A-Basin?

Arapahoe Basin is located 68 miles from Denver, in Summit County, Colorado. Summit County is home to the Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Keystone Ski Areas as well. The towns of Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge and Silverthorne are all within a 15-30 minute drive of Arapahoe Basin. Summit County is supported by a free shuttle bus system to all towns and areas. See our Housing & Area Info section.

Drug/Alcohol Free Workplace

Arapahoe Basin ski area is committed to maintaining a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace. Abuse of drugs and alcohol impairs employee judgment which may result in increased safety risks, employee injuries and faulty decision making. Drug/alcohol testing is performed in instances of reasonable suspicion and post-accident.
