Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, known as “A-Basin” or simply “The Basin,” opened in 1946 and retains a classic ski area ambiance even today.  For both guests and employees alike, A-Basin provides the “pure mountain experience” with a true family-friendly atmosphere and a passion for skiing, riding and the mountain.  Half of our mountain is above timberline, with 10% beginner, 30% intermediate and 60% advanced/expert terrain and open bowl skiing lasting into June and sometimes July!  A-Basin is known as a "local’s mountain," and employees have the opportunity to get to know our regular guests, which makes the Basin feel more like a community than just a ski area.  Arapahoe Basin features everything needed for a memorable ski day, including rental and retail shops, a snowsports school, and several food and beverage outlets.  Arapahoe Basin operates on the Arapahoe National Forest, and therefore does not have on-site lodging for guests or employees.

Drug/Alcohol Free Workplace

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is committed to maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.  Drug/alcohol testing is performed in instances of reasonable suspicion and post-accident.
