Housing & Area Info

Housing

Affordable housing in Summit County and the Arapahoe Basin area is limited and rents quickly. Arapahoe Basin has some housing for employees but on a limited basis. We would be happy to further discuss the availability of employee housing so please contact us about this via phone or e-mail hr@a-basin.net

In general, housing tends to be more difficult to find the closer it gets to the ski season, and we encourage all applicants to plan in advance. The best time to find housing for the winter season is in September or October. If not living in our employee housing, most employees rent condominiums, houses or apartments in towns such as Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco or Breckenridge. It is very possible to find housing either between A-Basin's employee housing or on your own but it may require a little bit of time and effort on your part.

Employee Housing

Employee housing is offered to all first-season incoming employees on a first come, first served basis. This dorm-style housing is located 5 miles away from our ski area in the town of Keystone. During our peak season, a free shuttle does run from Keystone to Arapahoe Basin. However, early season and late season, employees are responsible for securing their own transportation to and from work.

The actual apartments are three bedrooms, one bathroom units that are partially furnished. This means the rooms come with all of the big furniture: twin beds, a dresser in each room, couches, a TV stand and a kitchen table. All linens, appliances and any other comforts of home must be provided by the residents.

Contact Human Resources for more information about employee housing or check out our local newspaper, Summit Daily News, and look at the classifieds section. Go to www.summitdaily.com then click on classifieds and look under rentals, real estate and the roommates sections. To help your search, Arapahoe Basin is located in the US zip code of 80435. Alternatively, go online to www.craigslist.com and search the High Rockies section for apartments or condos in Dillon, Summit Cove, Silverthorne, Wildernest, Frisco or Breckenridge.

If you need a place to stay when you first get to Summit County but you don't want to pay for a hotel room, try the Riverside Lidge, a youth hostel with reasonable rates. For more information, visit www.summitpeakslodge.com.
