Last week's 4 feet of snow generated a tremendous amount of avalanche work. After a lot of ski cutting and shots this week, the Ski Patrol was able to get the East Wall open mid-afternoon today. It had opened with limited skiing more than a week ago, but today was the real deal. That storm was very good for conditions and coverage. Today all three lower gates, the North Pole gate and the Willie's staircase were opened. At least a few people slipped through the Snorkel Door and skied Snorkel Nose. Most importantly, conditions were absolutely fantastic. And, will still be fantastic on Sunday.
