An old friend, formerly from Summit County, now from Fernie, stopped by today. I slipped out to tour the hill with her for the last part of the day. On our first run, the wind was blowing nicely and The Spine was buffed. Touring the rest of the hill will have to wait until tomorrow. We skied The Spine until Pali closed. Each run was softer than the previous run. Just perfect. The Enduro folks are going to love The Spine tomorrow.
Wednesday is the Annual Enduro and Apres Party. Teams of two will be trying to ski as many laps on Pallavicini Lift as they can from 7 AM to 5 PM. While a handful of the people are very competitive, most participants are there enjoying the day, challenging themselves and living the spirt of A-Basin. Ski time will be followed by an awesome dinner and fund raising party in the A-Frame. The entire event is for Summit County born and raised Chelsea Van Winkle (formerly Rybak), her husband Brett and their baby Nora. In November Nora was born at 31 weeks and has spent a great deal of her life in NICU in Denver. Please come enjoy the day and night, celebrate the spirit of Arapahoe Basin and support our good friends.
