A-Basin is a proud partner of the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, a non-profit organization that provides skiing and snowboarding lessons for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Skiing and snowboarding are sports that can – and should – be enjoyed by everyone and anyone, from first-timers to experts.

Following standards of the Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA) and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI), the BOEC Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Program is known for its personalized, custom skiing and snowboarding experiences that include one-on-one instruction using the latest in adaptive techniques and equipment.

All adaptive lessons include instruction with PSIA trained instructor, on-hill guiding and support, specialized equipment, and a lift ticket solely for the student. All disciplines of adaptive skiing are provided, including visually impaired, three-track, four-track, mono-skiing, and bi-skiing. Additionally, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing instruction are available upon request. Lessons are available to all skiers and snowboarders over four years of age.

Scholarships: BOEC is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization and partner of Arapahoe Basin. If you require financial assistance for lessons, BOEC offers partial scholarships for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. If you are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, please contact the BOEC directly at skiprog@boec.org

Please book in advance as BOEC has limited capacity, and lesson days tend to fill quickly. To make a reservation, please call (970) 453-5633 or email skiprog@boec.org. For more information, please visit BOEC’s website.
